Seit vorgestern ist eine neue Webseite im Netz, die sich an die amerikanische Bevölkerung richtet. Vorab: Ich hoffe, dass so eine Site alsbald auch für Deutschland kreiert wird, und solche Projekte an Einfluss gewinnen und was bewegen können. Aber .. was ich ahne ist, dass es lediglich bei der Hoffnung an diesem Idealismus bleibt. Aber weiter im Text:

America Speaking Out – so der Name des Projektes an dem sich jeder freie Bürger beteiligen kann, der politische Ideen hat, die dem Kongress mal auf die Sprünge helfen sollen, der scheinbar – so könnte man interpretieren – nur noch kreativlos so vor sich hin vegetiert, was widerum schädlich für das Ansehen ist.

America deserves a Congress that respects the priorities of the people. Unfortunately, Washington hasn’t been listening. Let’s change that. America Speaking Out is your opportunity to change the way Congress works by proposing ideas for a new policy agenda. Republicans have offered solutions, and we have our principles, but this is a new venue for us to listen to you. So Speak Out.

Ist im Grunde auch relativ simpel, da mitzumachen und eigene Ideen einzubringen, wie im HOWTO auf der Website einzusehen ist. Einfach mal machen. Der Rest ergibt sich von alleine.

Republican leaders in the U.S. House of Representatives, stung by criticism that their party lacks new ideas, launched an online initiative on Tuesday to hear suggestions and policy proposals directly from Americans.

.. die dieses Projekt natürlich nicht bloss gelauncht haben, um beim Wähler-Volk zu punkten und Stimmen abzusahnen, die sich sonst sehr wahrscheinlich die Demokraten sichern würden. Nein. Man möchte wissen, wie das Volk denkt. Alle Macht geht ja nun mal volm Volk aus. War schon im ersten Irakkrieg so, im zweiten, und bald wahrscheinlich auch im dritten und bei allen anderen grossen politischen Entscheidungen in den vergangenen Jahren. Da wollte doch das Volk den Krieg – nicht irgendeine Lobby, gell?
