Vor gut vier Wochen machte die Meldung über den “Talking Tree” schon die Runde – in Brüssel hat man einen hundert Jahre alten Baum in der Innenstadt mit allen möglichen Sensoren, Kameras und Mikrophonen ausgestattet. Die Daten, die hier zusammen kommen, werden an Social Communities wie Twitter oder Facebook weitergegeben und dort veröffentlicht.

Mittlerweile gibt´s auch ein Video zum Projekt The “Talking Tree“:

A 100 year old tree, living on the edge of Brussels, was hooked up to a fine dust meter, ozone meter, light meter, weatherstation, webcam and microphone. This equipment constantly measures the tree’s living circumstances. And translates this information into human language. Then, the tree lets the world know how he feels.
